The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched a new certificate program, Public Sector Safety and Health Fundamentals, that provides public sector employees training on occupational safety and health to reduce injuries, illnesses and fatalities among workers in state and local governments.
These programs are in line with OSHA’s mission of ensuring safe and healthful work conditions for men and women by enforcing these standards. Although public sectors are not yet subject to OSHA’s guidelines, they should stay a step ahead by claiming responsibility for the safety and health of their workers. For more information about this program, visit OSHA.gov.
Although the program was designed for those working in the public sector, it is available to anyone interested in becoming more knowledgeable in the field of occupational safety and health.
